Biracial Identity

The Girl Who Fell from the Sky  by Heidi Durrow
Audiobook read by Karen Murray

Set in Portland in the 1980‘’s, Rachel was a half black, half Danish girl, and lived with her strict African-American grandmother. Her Danish mother and her siblings leaped from the top of an apartment building. Rachel survived and lived in struggling with biracial identity.

I’ve finished this audio book half-minded while cleaning seafood and preparing breakfast for the following week. I honestly got confused about a lot of details, i.e. where is her father and why did he conduct domestic violence? Why did children jump to their death so willingly/not so willingly? What will happen to Rachel and her grandma? What is going to happen to the boy?
