I like it best that the book was set in New Zealand and partly Sydney. All these once familiar birds and places positively make me recall my various short trips to botanic gardens and reserves in NZ. The book falls into the category as my absolute favorite that a daring free spirit shining on another’s life. BTW I am guessing the rara avis on the cover a Huia.
