The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
Miserable childhood of the twins and practically everyone in the book.
Well, well ,well, as always, the things that appears to be alien, miserable that beyond one’s imagination, and fits into labels that would become popular in foreign. Maybe because the stories are partly true, and fits just perfectly into the imagination of the ignorant readers who desperately need proof to convince themselves the superiority of their time and whatever. Pure prejudice.
